What are the home interior trends for 2021?

2020 was the year we all stayed at home! No holidays and working from home resulted in many of us looking around at our homes and demanding more from the space. Interiors reflect the time we live in, so look out for these home improvements topping the wish-list next year!
1. Outdoor entertaining spaces – we looked to our gardens to provide a social space and a place to entertain, according to a survey conducted by Houzz, the garden is the area of the home most people want to improve, and searches for ‘summerhouses’, ‘firepits’, ‘hot tubs’ and ‘outdoor kitchens’ are all on the up, as well as outdoor dining options and pizza ovens!
2. Nature-inspired interiors – bringing the outside in, our connection to nature and mental health will continue to inspire interiors in 2021. Warm earth tones, such as burnt umber, terracotta and clay, along with contrasting forest-like hues, such as sage, pine and turquoise, are all predicted to be strong choices.
3. Multi-functional spaces – we demand more from our homes, searches for a home office, home gyms etc. The need to live, work and play in the same space has caused an increase in desire for hybrid designs, detachable units and convertible pieces that create a home more suited to our ‘new normal’
