During the colder months, we spend much more time indoors so it’s always good to take some steps to ensure that your home is a comfortable and warmer.
• Update your furnishings to include bright colours – not only will you be on trend but you’ll also be lifting your mood. Research shows that colours like red, green and yellow help to stimulate and uplift. While calming, too much blue can also bring on the blues – something to bear in mind.
• Add some extra textured layers e.g. faux fur throws to your bed/couch for a cosier look and feel. The bonus being that you won’t need to jack up the heating to compensate = £££ savings on your heating bills!
• UPGRADE YOUR WALL/CEILING INSULATION – IT’LL HELP YOU SAVE MASSIVELY ON YOU HEATING BILLS AND KEEP YOUR HOME COOL IN SUMMER TOO.
• Dark days often = winter doldrums. Try and bring in more natural light by changing window dressings or perhaps by ADDING A SKYLIGHT. Paired with certain types of flooring, you can also lock in heat that can slowly be released once the sun goes down to help warm your home.
