Bathroom construction in Notting Hill Gate
This bathroom forms part of a comprehensive refurbishment project in Notting Hill Gate, delivered alongside the wider reconfiguration of the property. Pawlus Group was appointed as the main contractor, responsible for all construction works in accordance with the architect’s drawings and specifications.
The space was created within a newly formed layout, benefiting from increased ceiling height and the introduction of a rooflight, allowing natural light to flood the room. Structural works carried out as part of the wider project enabled a more open and balanced layout, centred around a freestanding bath positioned beneath the window.
The construction involved full coordination of plumbing, drainage, and electrical installations, carefully integrated within the building fabric to maintain a clean and minimal aesthetic. Particular attention was given to waterproofing, service routing, and setting out, ensuring precise alignment of all fixtures and finishes.
A key feature of the bathroom is the combination of materials and detailing. The floor is finished with large-format porcelain tiles, while the walls incorporate classic white tiling to a dado level, creating a contrast with the darker, textured finishes used in the vanity and shower areas. The bespoke vanity structure, finished in a dark polished plaster, supports a countertop basin with wall-mounted fittings, maintaining a streamlined appearance.
Additional elements include a freestanding bath with floor-mounted taps, a walk-in shower defined by a minimal partition, and exposed brass pipework that adds a subtle industrial character. The space is completed with a Crittall-style mirror and feature lighting, reinforcing the architectural language established throughout the project.
Through careful coordination and attention to detail, the bathroom was delivered as a refined and functional space, combining traditional elements with contemporary construction. The result is a high-quality interior that integrates seamlessly within the overall Notting Hill Gate refurbishment.
