Bedroom fit-out in Notting Hill Gate
This bedroom forms part of a comprehensive refurbishment project in Notting Hill Gate, delivered alongside the wider reconfiguration of the property. Pawlus Group was appointed as the main contractor, responsible for all construction works in accordance with the architect’s drawings and project specifications.
The space was created within a reworked internal layout following significant structural interventions across the property. The design focuses on simplicity, proportion, and natural light, with large sash windows and a clean, restrained material palette contributing to a calm and balanced interior.
A key element of the room is the wide-plank hardwood flooring, installed throughout to create continuity with the rest of the property. The natural grain and variation of the timber add warmth to the otherwise minimal scheme, while precise installation ensures a clean and consistent finish across the space.
The construction works included full internal build, plastering, and second fix electrical installations. Lighting has been kept intentionally understated, combining pendant fittings with wall-mounted reading lights to maintain a soft and uncluttered aesthetic. Traditional-style radiators were carefully integrated beneath the windows, aligning with the overall architectural character of the property.
In the adjoining area, a polished plaster finish has been used to define the transition between spaces, introducing subtle texture and contrast within the otherwise neutral palette. The layout allows for a natural flow between the bedroom and circulation areas, reinforcing the open and considered approach applied throughout the refurbishment.
Attention to detail during the finishing stage was essential, particularly in setting out, alignment, and junctions between materials. The result is a well-proportioned and carefully executed bedroom that complements the wider Notting Hill Gate project.
